A simple way to Wire a Single-Pole Switch

Every Homeowner contains single pole switches that are used for lightening, disconnecting the furnace garbage disposers and many more. Read on this article to learn an easy way to wire a single pole switch. By using simple tools and instruction you would be able to replace or fix a single-pole switch without hiring any Electrician.

Important Tools include single Pole switch, screwdriver, wire strippers, and Electrical Tape. First of all, turn off the power to perform the safety and never assume the circuit is off. Now remove the existing switch by removing two screws. While doing this activity you need to check again whether the circuit is off or not. If there is no power then unfix the two bolts and remove and discard the switch. Now remove the electrical covering from the wires in case of new installation you have to strip ¾ of insulation for building the connection.

Connect the new switch by curving the ends into the half-moon shape. Strictly tight the exposed copper or green wire by connecting the two black wires to the remaining brass-colored screw. Always tighten in a clockwise shape to make sure that the connection is good and tight. Wrap with electrical tape after making a secure connection. Wrapping it with a safety tape will complete the security concern and secure the switch from connecting with the side of the box. Compress the switch in a box to make sure a test fit.

Now you have to Substitute the switch case and bind its two screws. There, you have made it! The last step is turning on the power and test the switch to make sure that if everything is ok. You have to make sure that the installation process completed successfully by analyzing at the toggle part of the switch. Always try to use the expensive quality of more durable switches.
